Culture and elections
The upcoming elections are approaching and the political landscape is changing. While topics such as the economy and migration take up a lot of space in the debate, cultural policy often only plays a minor role – yet it affects us all. Political decisions in the coming years will be particularly decisive for the arts, cultural and creative professionals and many other self-employed people. Culture must not be a luxury – it is essential for a vibrant society.
Creative professionals must remain flexible
What challenges and opportunities do the self-employed and creative professionals face?
The world of work is changing, and with it the conditions for the self-employed and freelancers. New developments bring both challenges and opportunities. Creative professionals must remain flexible, but at the same time can benefit from the advancing digitalisation, be it in the area of marketing , customer acquisition or the monetisation of content. At the same time, political decisions influence the framework conditions of their work.
While a planned increase in the basic tax-free allowance is expected to bring tax relief, significant cuts in the cultural sector are imminent. For example, funding for the six federal cultural funds is to be almost halved, which could have a significant impact on the independent cultural scene. Massive cuts are also planned in Berlin, jeopardising hundreds of cultural projects. These developments show how important it is, to get involved politically – especially for those, who contribute to the diversity and creativity of our society with their work.
We feel connected to the creative industry
Our role as career and start-up counsellors
We support people who want to reorient themselves professionally or become self-employed, on their individual path. We do not offer general training courses or seminars , but instead focus on individual coaching sessions, which are tailored to the specific needs of our clients. We analyse exactly where someone stands, what resources are available and what the next step could be.
A large part of our clientele comes from the creative sector. Their ideas, art and cultural contributions enrich our society. We feel connected to them and see it as essential that culture and creativity are not curtailed, but encouraged. Innovation, expression and artistic freedom are the cornerstones of an open and sustainable society.
Especially in the current political and economic situation, many questions arise: What funding opportunities are there? How can I build up my independence in the long term? How do I deal with change? This is where we come in – with individual strategies, that are tailored to personal strengths and goals.
